Nutrition Manager

Met with a nutrition manager today and I am starting a new phase in my life. I am going to consume 2564 calories a day until I start to lose weight then my calories will go down as my weight goes down. Apparently my body is in starvation mode and I am burning the lean muscle I am developing with my strength training exercises. I will eat 6 small meals a day and drink 6 glasses of water. My other water consumption will come from the fruits and vegetables I eat. Complex carbohydrates that are good for me will be at 60%, lean protein will be at 24% and fat will be 16%. More to come as I journey into a new life.....

My life in 2008

I can't believe it has been almost 3 months since I posted. A lot has happened in since November 2007. The week before Thanksgiving I was ready to throw in the towel and give up. I went to Diet Doctor who prescribed appetite suppresants and to get my butt moving for 45 mins a day. I didn't do the 45 mins a day......just yet but did follow a plan that had me eating my largest meal in the AM for breakfast and then a light lunch....he wanted me to eat nothing after 1:00 pm and still incorporate 45 mins of movement of some type of exercise a day. I said no way could I not eat after 1:00 but he said I could eat vegtables. Okay....anyone out there have a family who needs to eat? I did and I couldn't be that strick with my plan. Most days I would eat YOAD Golden Garden Vegetable soup. Well the holidays came around and I still lost weight but not huge amounts. I lost 20 lbs in 2 months.

The first of January, well actually December 30th 2007, I joined the YMCA. Did water aerobics my first day to try out the gym. Felt pretty good but my body felt like it weighed a ton when I got out of the water. I then went into the weight room to check it out..... a little intimidating at first but hey, I am paying for a family membership and I need to use my money wisely. I hooked up with a Heatlh Coach Ollie! Amazing man who listened to my goals and put me on a stationary bike until he was free to come and go over an exercise routine. I was on the bike for 30 mins and I was sweating. Ollie came and got me and went through the different weight machines and gave me tips on my form and breathing. Then he started with some really tough questions......when are you going to be working out? I started to make excuses about how my work schedule was with working two jobs and having to take my son to work.....geez.....I don't know. He stated the gym opens at 5:00 am......oh....well, I guess I can make it at 5:00 am and work out for an hour and then be home in time to start my day......Okay, Okay.....I will commit to working out 3 days a week....Monday, Wednesday and Friday @ 5:00 am. Okay, now what about the other days.....geez......I could try to make some water aerobics during the week. Ollie asked me, well what about if you don't make it here for the water aerobics?.....Well, I have a treadmill at home? Okay but it is also okay to take a day or two off from working out. Well, I have been doing the gym Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I have made 4 water aerobic classes and I have lost 2 pounds for the month of January. Ollie!!!!!! It's about body compostion because I have only lost 2 pounds in one month but I have lost 9 inches from various places on my bod! So now.....I am working out everyday...either at the gym, water aerobics or walking on my treadmill. This is a new lifestyle for me. I have since found out the reason for my lack of substantial weight.....not enough eating going on. I am hoping to meet with a nutrition manager at the gym this coming Saturday so I can start to burn fat and develop lean muscle. I am attempting to increase my water consumption by eating more vegetables and drinking more water.
More to come after I meet with the Nutrition Manager.

Help Clean the Basement

Having a hard time getting back on track. Helped my brother and sister move some things around my mom's basement so she can have some pipes replaced. My brother is younger and was complaining about his arm being numb. Kinda scares me since his blood pressure is so high and he isn't physically fit. Maybe this is what I need is a picture of my bubby and know that I must love weight to remain healthy......
